Belle

Belle

Belle passed over the bridge on May 16th 2015, She was lovingly hospiced by Mary Takahashi and her family.

“We had a wonderful 7 months with her, and she was such a revelation to us. We’ve had Northern breeds for years, and Belle was our first ‘velcro-dog’. True to her Aussie nature, she followed me around like a little duckling, usually with one of her fuzzy toys in her mouth, and planted herself at my feet if I was sitting down. She became my loyal companion and I was so lucky to have her undivided attention. Her job was to make people smile, with her puppy face and polar bear paws. The whole neighborhood misses her.

“Even though she was sick, she was joyful and active until the last few days. The tumor in her belly had more than doubled in size since we adopted her, and it eventually spread into her spleen.

“Belle was a great dog. We feel as if she lived with us for longer than those few months. She really became part of our family quickly and indelibly.”

Original profile

Belle is perfect in every way. Really, every way. She is as friendly as they come, and if you stop petting her (why would you do that!?!), she’ll remind you of your petting priorities by bumping you hand with her head. And she’s a friend to all of the dogs at Muttville too, never with a raise of the lip or hackle. She’s happy, and she spreads cheer with everyone she meets. To know her is to love her.

This little lady is 12 years old and about 55 pounds. She is in good shape and is a good walker too.

Belle has the face of a puppy, is soft as chinchilla, and a heart of gold.
