Nigel

We say goodbye to a wonderful sweet chunk of love. This from his dad:

In January of 2013, we were thinking of getting a small dog (about our cat’s size), and, instead, we found ourselves driving back at night with Nigel, all along thinking “oh my god, there’s a 75 pound dog in the back of our car”! It was one of the best things that ever happened to us!

We got 20 wonderful months with the most amazingly gentle and loving best friend and companion. Sadly, a couple of weeks ago, we discovered a large cancerous mass in his lungs. Last Tuesday, unfortunately, the surgery was too much for him and his heart stopped shortly after the operation. We are missing him terribly, while also realizing how truly fortunate we were to have him for the time that we did. If you would like to share him in your memoriam section, we’d really appreciate that.

His Muttville ID was Nigel 1557, aka Austin.

Original profile

Who doesn’t love a big chunky love pooch? This is Austin, he is exactly that. He stole the hearts of all the volunteers at the Sonoma animal shelter, they reached out to Muttville for some help.

This boy is great with dogs, cats and children, too. Austin is about 10 years young and is about 65 pounds. He loves to go for walks, gets around well and wags his tail non stop! And he’s super smart, even knows how to sit and shake!

Austin is still a little bewildered by all that has happened to him and is in need of some reassurance here and there. He is adjusting to the great indoors and is starting to understand how sweet it is to be warm and dry.

We think he is a lab/shep mix but he has a bit of mystery mutt thrown in!

This affectionate and oversized lap dog would love to find a wonderful family to love.
