Poppy (fka Puppet)

Thank you mutt mom Lynda for this update about Poppy, formerly Puppet:

Poppy (fka Puppet)

I adopted Poppy (formerly known as Puppet) in May, and I can honestly say she has changed my life; she is such a joy.
The second I get out of bed she runs around my legs until I sit on the floor, let her climb on my lap and give her scratches.

One of her favorite ways of passing time is to sit on my lap on the back step early in the morning, wrapped up in my robe, watching the birds darting around the yard – she makes no attempt to chase them. When the sun finally creeps around to warm up a small patch of garden she moves over there to catch a few rays. She also has another favorite spot on the deck at the front of the house and a third where she can curl up on a loveseat outside.

She enjoys rides in the car, has mixed feelings about walking so some days has pep in her step and other days drags (a bit like most of us). When she spots people on her daily walks she squeaks with excitement and wags her tail because nothing is better than receiving love from strangers, although she is getting quite famous in the neighborhood these days.

Poppy is part of the Muttville Fospice Program and friends cautioned me against adopting a terminally ill dog. It is proving to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and every day that she and I spend together is a special one.

Thank you Muttville for the amazing job that you do.
