Harley

This lucky Beagle mix found a new homes with beagle lover Cheri! Enjoy his story, in his own words:

Harley

Hi, I’m Harley, I was known at Muttville as Freddie. My Mommy and Daddy changed my name because they said I just looked like a Harley, and I’m cool with that.

I was Muttville’s resident Tri-Pawed Beagle Mix. I have 2 brother’s Nash and Flash and a sister Savannah who also came from Muttville. She’s still a talker let me tell you! Her and Daddy have some pretty funny conversations.

I really love my new home. There’s a doggy door so I can go outside whenever I want. Having three paws has not deterred me at all. I can go up and down the steps and Mommy and Daddy got steps so I can sleep in the bed with everyone else. Since I’ve come here, I’ve felt really safe and secure here. I had a little bit of trouble with Nash because he’s older than I and can be a little clumsy, but we’ve worked through it and now we’re buddies. Savannah doesn’t like any of us, so at least she’s consistent with that. I really think she does like us but she has to yell at us like a girl, and it’s funny because Flash is afraid of her. Ok, I’m not much into talking so that’s my story. I’m very happy here and glad to have this great family to live with, even Savannah. :)

From Mommy and Daddy….

I was a little bit apprehensive about rescuing a tri pawed dog, but one hour with Harley and that totally went away. He has more energy than all of us, and you can just tell he’s happy to be here. He got into our routine of life really fast, he knows when it’s nap time here, and at bedtime sometimes we find him already up in bed, sleeping like a log. He loves his total freedom and we’re so happy that his senior years will be spent with us. He always has a smile on his face and he is very protective of me. Anywhere I go, he’s always right there beside me. I’ve gotten a whole new perspective of dogs with disabilities, they’re no different than any other pet, and it almost seems as if they are more grateful for the love you give them. I call Harley Fuzzy Wuzzy because he’s so furry compared to Flash, Nash and Savannah and he loves when I sing the Fuzzy Wuzzy song because he know’s it’s special for him.

Muttville has shown us that rescuing senior dogs are very rewarding and these special seniors are so happy when they go to their new forever homes. I’ll always be grateful to them for showing me this, and Harley and Savannah will always have our love and care.

Thanks Muttville, you rock!
