Scooby 3142

Because of the amazing love and courage of our fospice families, dogs with terminal illnesses like Scooby enjoy a full, happy life and focus on joy and living rather than their health. Please enjoy this loving tribute to Scooby from his fospice mom Barbara:

Writing about Scooby is difficult. Words cannot capture the profound joy and sweetness brought me. While I want to be positive I saw with sadness he can only be held in my heart now.

Looking for a foster, I thought Scooby was a good choice. The beautiful Poodles and Poms would not be with me for long. The little mutt with the sausage body, soulful eyes had a heart and spirit that made him the ultimate prize.

Both puppies in senior bodies, Scooby and I had an immediate affinity. We wrestled with his leash, we ran down the street. He was the first special someone for snuggles and silliness I had in years.

Everyone, it seems, had an affinity for Scooby and he had an affinity for them. When people came by he would indicate with front paws on the chair that he would be willing to sit on their laps. He was accepting if they were not up for it. With dogs, there were none that he did not want to engage in a greeting. He dove into play with one-year puppies that were three times his size until he learned giant paws could be overwhelming, Even in the menace thought he presented to skateboard Scooby was, to me, the perfect pet.

My time with Scooby led to discovering a special sweetness. Though fleeting , a chance to savor the spirit of that sweet spirit was exquisite.
