Pence

Hunter Pence, eat your heart out! Muttville’s Pence is an all star at his loving home! Read his story, written by mom Maureen:

Pence

Hunter Pence, the heart and spirit of the SF Giants, doesn’t know that he has a namesake with the same sweet soul as he. But we do – he is our precious Pence, known as Pesto (#2986) for his first few days at Muttville.

While on vacation in Florida, we saw the Muttville adoption notice on-line and immediately fell in love with Pence. His eyes, pleading for love, captured our hearts. We had mixed emotions hoping that he would get adopted immediately, but anxiously hoping that he would still be available when we returned to California. When we met this babe, Pence was 20 lbs. underweight with atrophic/arthritic hind legs that, at times, made him fall down. We found he had dental disease which demanded that seven teeth be extracted. We are very thankful for our wonderful vet, Dr. Atwal, who has set Pence on the road to recovery. Pence has gained over six pounds and has a bounce in his step that disguises his ten plus years.

But it’s the huge heart and sweet soul of Pence that has seen him through the rough times. Now he has the love of many family members, as well as his labrador brothers, Buzz and Woody. Every afternoon Pence, Annie (another rescue pup), Buzz, and Woody run through the yard chasing or fishing out balls from the pool. Though Pence cannot jump into the car, going for rides and taking walks have become so much easier for him that he can’t wait to go! We are so grateful to Muttville for blessing our lives with this babe.
