Boo Boo

Thank you to Muttville mom MaryAnn for sharing her love story:

Boo Boo

My name is MaryAnn. I adopted a Pomeranian named Boo Boo (Muttville name Pixie ) on June 21, 2011 from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue.

I noticed Boo Boo when I was walking my dog Teri. It was just a coincidence that her foster mom lives close by me and was walking Boo Boo right across from my house. I didn’t know during that time she was up for adoption. Boo Boo caught my attention right away because she reminded me of my last Pomeranian. I went over to greet this little pup. Only then, the foster mom Lisa told me that this dog needed a home. Honestly, I had no intention of getting another dog since the one I have is already a handful and she is also extremely antisocial. But I decided to take a chance and have Boo Boo meet my Teri. With the help of the foster mom, the doggie introduction was a cautious one. Honestly, I feared for the worse. I really didn’t have high hopes. But in disbelief, Teri has no issues with Boo Boo. She immediately shared her food and her extra bed with her. I guessed it was meant to be. The adoption process was easy and quick.

I have two little fluffy girls in my life now. In addition, Teri has an adorable sister to share her daily walks and her huge closet of clothes.

Many of my friends have said Boo Boo is extremely fortunate because I have given her a second chance and a well overdue loving home. However, the truth is that Boo Boo has given me a happier outlook and hopeful future. She came into my life after my mom passed away a year and a half ago. I was still mourning my immense loss and felt a tremendous emptiness inside. This fate encounter cannot come at a better time. Both Boo Boo and I were searching to fill a void in our lives. Our hearts are fuller now.

Most importantly, Teri and I give thanks to Muttville for taking Boo Boo out of the shelter and the foster mom Lisa for providing Boo Boo the necessary care before my adoption. They are definitely Boo Boo’s fairy godmothers. Muttville is one of the best dog rescues around, especially because it focuses to find homes for the most overlooked and neglected dogs, the senior group. Thumbs up to their great cause.

And just a final note, Boo Boo has countless admirers, especially during our walks and many strangers have stopped to take pics of her. She is often compared to the Pomeranian named “Boo”, known as the current cutest dog on the Internet. My Boo Boo doesn’t really understand this comparison but she appreciates all the attentions she has be getting lately. She definitely deserves it.

It’s never too late for a new beginning!
