Josie

As soon as the Simpson family saw the Muttville profile of beautiful Josie, they knew she was the one.

Josie

From kids Sarah & Kyle, mom Diane, and of course Josie too, read this wonderful tale of Josie and her forever family.

Sarah:
Before I had my dog, Josie, I asked for a dog more than once a day. To think, my too cute of a dog was beaten and abused all her life like she didn’t have feelings. Luckily enough for her she was rescued by this amazing program. Once I met Josie, I said yes – very quickly might I add. Ever since then I have loved Josie to the bone and I’m sure she is happy in her new home.

Kyle:
I was never really a dog guy, more of a cat guy. But when we met Josie for the first time I was instantly hooked on this girl. I’m not sure if it was the floppy ears or the crinkly head when she perks up her ears, but I knew she was a perfect dog for our family. Every night when we are getting ready for our walk, she does her little happy dance that’s so cute. If we’re too slow she’ll start barking at all of us – the only time she ever barks. And when you’re petting Josie and you stop too soon, she nuzzles your hand or arm with her nose, letting you know it’s not quite time to stop. I love my Josie.

Diane:
My daughter, Sarah, had been wanting a dog forever. We’re not home a lot so I’d continually said no, it wouldn’t be fair to a dog. She was relentless though, but I knew it had to be just the right dog who’d be happy sleeping at home alone all day, but could handle tons of love whenever we were home. A friend told me about Muttville – so we started looking. All those sweet faces, so deserving of a good home and a happy ending. How would we ever choose! We all knew when we saw Josie’s profile picture, we had to have this sweet faced adorable girl. When we had our first date, it was love at first sight! Josie has enriched our lives in so many ways. We couldn’t be happier to give this sweet girl all the love she so deserves!

Josie:
I’m a pretty easy going dog. I don’t bark much. I don’t destroy things. I’m good with kids, cats, other dogs. A little food and a little love, and I’ll be your best friend. Unfortunately that’s not how I spent the first 13 years of my life. I was allowed to roam the streets a lot, fending for myself. When my new family took me to the vet for the first time they were told I’d been beaten a lot – I have dental fractures and my back legs are pretty weak and wobbly. I’m not really sure why anyone ever hit me, but they did. I ended up at the Petaluma animal shelter because my former owners didn’t want to pay the fee to get me out one more time. It was a scary place and I was not doing well, but lucky for me Muttville rescued me and found me a really great new family. I’m so lucky to have a home where I’m loved. I have 3 beds – wow!! I get to go for walks every day, sometimes we go to the beach, we go for hikes and to the dog park, they even take me on vacation with them. I’m a loved, lucky dog!

It’s never too late for a new beginning!
