Ginsburg may have been an adventurer in his youth, exploring the city in search of excitement and street snacks, but now he’s ready for the comforts of a warm, loving home. Having seriously neglected his beauty routines during his wild phase, Ginsburg is now being pampered with soapy baths, a stylish buzz cut, skin-soothing meds, and soul-soothing cuddles. He’s just the sweetest, friendliest guy around, and is clearly so happy to finally be cared for and comfortable. Ginsberg gets along great with other dogs! He has a decent amount of energy for a senior and would love regular adventures and walkies. He is very sweet and adorable!

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Ginsburg is wonderful!! He is quick to learn good behaviors. When it comes to potty training, he tried to aim at the pee pads. I have been taking him out for walks and he spends a lot of time in the garden so he gets a lot of opportunities to do it outside. Over the weekend, he looked at me and quietly squeaked while walking towards the back door. I followed and, while standing next to the door, I asked if he wanted to go outside and he started wagging his tail so I took him outside. Since then, this is how he is letting me know he needs to go outside! Also, he doesn’t need to go to the bathroom at night! I get a full night sleep and have to wake him up in the morning to take him out. He saw that Benji sleeps with me in my bed so now when he wants to get on the bed, he will look at me and squeak quietly and wag his tail. He sleeps with me and Benji in my bed and had NEVER had any accidents!

Yes he is verbal while on a walk but I experimented a bit and decided to take him for walks with treats (he LOVES them) and if I see someone approaching us or if he sees someone from a distance, I reach for the treat and his whole attention is on the treat only and getting more. I probably won’t be able to train him not to be verbal on walks in the couple of weeks he will be with me but if there is a person who falls in love with him, I don’t think having to carry treats in a pocket is a big deal.

He can be both active or a couch potato (whichever you prefer). When I work, he will sleep. When i take him for walks, he has as much energy as Benji; he can even walk as fast as Benji if you let him. He is great on the leash (but don’t forget to have treats in your pocket).

He can do stairs with no problems but he is also comfortable if I want to carry him.
