I am in awe of Ali’s outlook and her ability to craft just the right words to let us in on her compassionate and wise philosophies.

Kudos to Ali and lots of tummy rubs and ear scratches to all the good dogs.

I love this; it is brilliant, inspiring and wonderfully written.
I’ve already told three people to check this site to read it.

Barbara with Izzy (a golden oldie from Muttville) and Piper (an older dog from Oakland SPCA)

Here’s my charming little Izzy (Isabella).
She just learned my hand signal “see you later.” I’ve taught all my dogs this so they would know I’d be back (at least I hope they get that part of it!). I just wave my hand back and forth in front of them (the old Queen Elizabeth-type wave) and leave (whether from home or leaving her at the vet’s for a while).
If at home, she now immediately turns around and goes right back to bed. She’s disappointed not to come with me, of course, but I like knowing that she understands at least that I’m going out.

This girl needs PRESENTS!!
I’m thinking . . . more adoptions and even more adoptions. And granting all the wishes on the wish list. Yes, perfect. No ribbons or bows needed, either.

Happy birthday to a wonderful, wonderful person. I thank you for bringing Izzy into my life. And I’m sure she thanks you a bunch, too!

Ali,

Your voice on these Muttville pages makes it so much fun to be one of those Muttville “stalkers”!
Sherri clearly knew what she was doing when she accepted you as a volunteer.
Your comments are always insightful, sweet and true (and sometimes pretty darn funny!)

This is beautifully written. So much of what Julie wrote is like what I recall of Ira’s last day. He was my little 18-year-old toy poodle guy Ira who passed away in early August. He was larger than life like Jojo and didn’t give up until the very last day.

I was beginning to take in senior dogs before I heard of Muttville and now my heart is completely in sync with all that Muttville does and stands for.

Thank you, Sherri, for establishing this organization and allowing the rest of us to share in all the goodness exemplified by sweet lives like those of Jojo, Ira (even though not a Muttville alumnus) and all the rest.

I love these boys. They look a little tentative, but ever so sweet.
