Strummer

Belgian Sheepdog/Chow mix
Female
Large (50-90 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Strummer is a sweet, smart 75 lb Belgian Sheepdog/Chow mix needs a new home. Some patience and a little extra care will get you a wonderful loyal dog who loves leaning in for head and neck scratches, chasing squirrels, and being with people. She’s gone through training and knows a lot of commands, and has a great capacity to learn even more.

Strummer’s health has been good, but she has an issue with spay incontinence, which we’ve managed through drug therapy, doggy diapers, and a lot of baths. After many years of caring for her, we just feel we can’t keep up-mainly because our attention has been so focused on our small kids. Strummer needs more human attention, exercise, and care than we can give her, and we now feel it’s in her and our best interest for her to live in a more appropriate home, especially if its with someone who has more doggy time available, and perhaps a viable dog backyard!

Strummer’s ten years old and spayed; she does not get along well with most female dogs, though she’s learned to live and share space with both cats and dogs. She’s been great with our kids, but wary around them, and may not be the best dog for a family with small children.
