Rosie 6

Dachshund
Female
Small (6-20 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Rosie is an 11 pound Dachshund, who is about 10 years old. A good Samaritan found this sweet girl running loose in Berkeley, so he put her in a cardboard box and brought her to Berkeley Animal Care Services. At the shelter she quickly won the hearts of the staff, who contacted Muttville to see if we could find this adorable girl the home she deserves.

Despite her short doxie legs, Rosie loves leash walks and time spent sniffing around the neighborhood. She loves every person and dog she meets, and doesn’t seem interested in cats. Her favorite activity is lying close to a favorite person and getting belly rubs (actually, she loves to be rubbed everywhere!). She particularly enjoys snuggling while sleeping outside in the sun, or under the covers in bed. She’s a bit of a fussy eater, but give her a piece of chicken and she’s your friend for life.

Rosie has dry eye in one eye. Dry eye is a common illness in which one of her tear glands no longer produces tears. Rosie will need daily eye drops for life to make her comfortable, but her vision and hearing are fine.

She would make a wonderful addition to a household where she will be showered with love and attention, and where she will have lots of comfy places to nap very close to the people she loves.
