My name is Natalie Marie Brackett. I’ve had kind of a hard life. My guardian adopted me from the animal rescue foundation 8 years ago. I can’t tell you about my life before that, because it is too difficult to talk about. But I can tell you about the last 8 years. I was adopted by a wonderful woman who treated me like a princess, and things were good for a while, but I could sense something was wrong. It turns out that my lady was in the beginning stages of Alzheimers, so she started forgetting to feed me, and take me out to go potty, and other really strange things. Her family stepped in, and hired a full-time live-in cargiver for her, and I thought this was going to be great. But, shortly after she arrived, I realized that she didn’t like me, and was not very nice to me. The family noticed that she was not caring for my lady like she should, so they let her go. Life got good again when the other caregiver arrived 5 years ago. She took excellent care of my lady, and me as well. I was very happy for a long time, and got the love and care I deserved. But, all good things must come to a end, and my lady got sick, and hospice came in to help my lady be comfortable. I loved my lady better than anyone I’ve ever met, so I stayed on her bed until one night she could not live any more, and died. That was the hardest night of my life, then men came in and took my lady away. I stayed on her bed until the next day, and would have stayed there forever, but some other men came and took her bed away. I am very sad and lonely without my lady, like I have a broken heart. Right now I am living with my lady’s caregiver, until Friday, July 27, 2012. I’m really afraid, because I have no where to go and I need a quiet home where I can be a companion to someone real nice. Like any nice dog though, I have some problems. I developed a thyroid problem and have to take medication twice a day. And sometimes, all of a sudden have to go outside, but can’t make it, and have an accident in the house. I have overheard some people say that I am the ugliest dog they have ever seen. I weigh 8 pounds and have wirey brown hair. Other than that I promise that I am a loving, and devoted little dog, and would love to find a new best friend. So please help me find a safe place to live out the rest of my life.

Yours truly, Nat
