Maggie

#4348
Labrador
Female
Large (50-90 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Maggie is a lovely black Lab who came to us all the way from Sacramento where she was found as a stray. Luckily, this sweet girl is now safe and sound at Muttville and is patiently waiting for her forever home. Maggie does great with other dogs and enjoys napping in the sun. She enjoys exploring her surroundings but is low energy and doesn’t require much exercise. Maggie would do best in a single story home with a backyard where she could do her business. Despite her rough past she has so much love to give and enjoys making new friends. She will bond with you quickly and make a wonderful companion.

Maggie is available for hospice care adoption due to recently diagnosed leukemia.

Maggie is 10 years young and weighs 90 pounds.

Here’s what Maggie’s awesome foster family has to say:

Maggie is easy going and gentle. She has the maturity to be both a “pack dog”-finding someone in the house to sit near-and an “independent dog”- enjoying the back yard by herself when she wants to just sit and enjoy the sun and smells. She wags her tail whenever anyone is near or talks to her. She’s great with our kids, ages 9 and 11. Maggie is not very active, because of an injury to her left back leg, but she would clearly like to be more active. She loves walks and would go on and on if we let her. Per the vet’s directive, Maggie goes in the yard or on short walks. Maggie is a trooper and enjoys her time outside. She smells every spot she can and greets everyone who’s out and about. Maggie gets along well with our dog. Maggie has not had any accidents at our house. She can make it through the night without having to go out. She willingly goes out in the morning, but can easily wait if we’re running behind schedule. When Maggie needs to go out, she walks toward the door and whimpers so someone will let her out. On a rare occasion, if someone is up late, she wants to go out around 9 pm. Maggie is on a diet. She eats kibble and any canned food containing gravy. She loves gravy. Maggie has a very slight, quiet ""snore."" She hasn’t slept in our bedroom, even though we have a bed for her. Instead, she sleeps in the front room on the carpet or on an extra dog bed we have. On occasion, if Maggie wants to be with people at night, she’ll sleep on the floor in our kids’ room.
