Kody 2

Cocker Spaniel
Male
Medium (20-50 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Hi! My name is Kody, and I was born a pure-bred cocker spaniel in New Mexico, and I’ll be 10 years old in April. My human, who is pretty good as humans go, wasn’t interested in dog shows (and neither was I), so she left my papers behind but, trust me, I’m pure bred. We’ve been together ever since, and I really love people. I take my job as her “dog bell” very seriously. I make sure she knows when anyone is at the door or coming in the driveway. She has a really nice lap and, to be honest, it’s my favorite place, particularly when she scratches right behind my ears. I’m a neutered, tidy fellow and never developed any bad habits (except I do need an enclosed yard or to be on a leash as I’m insatiably curious about the wide wide world); I’m easy to get along with once I decide you’re my human. I’ve lived with cats and other dogs (I really like playing with other dogs – do you have one?). I haven’t been around those tiny humans that everyone makes such a fuss about, so don’t expect me to change diapers or lick up spilled baby food. I’ve got plenty of good years left in me as my human has been diligent in my care and feeding. I don’t know why she thinks she has to move overseas, but then humans are hard to understand sometimes. It’s OK. I’m sure I’m going to love you as much as I loved her, and she’ll be OK as long as she knows I’m happy and well cared for, but I’ll let her know if it’s OK.
