Shih Tzu
Female
Small (6-20 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Meet Coconut! This wonderful Shih Tzu girl came to us all the way from Fresno where she was found as a stray. Coconut is still getting used to her new surroundings but has already shown herself to be mellow, gentle, and very sweet. She enjoys exploring and relaxing. She loves going for walks, too! Coconut appears to be vision impaired or fully blind, but that doesn’t stop her from being outgoing and a joy to be around. She also does great with other dogs and will make a wonderful companion.

Coconut is about 8-10 years young and weighs 18 pounds.

Coconut’s foster mom writes:

“Coconut may not see perfectly, but she is the perfect dog. She seems to be able to see things right in front of her face and probably vague shapes and she’s able to tell if it’s light or dark. She doesn’t bump into things or get lost in the house. She’s a confident girl who expresses a lot of joy in her life. Coconut is great on a leash and loves to walk with her two foster brothers (two to four blocks is sufficient…you don’t need to go for many miles with her). She eats well and sleeps through the night in her pen. She also has no problems being left at home alone while I go to work, and she can hold it just fine. Overall, Coconut is super low maintenance (and non-shedding!) and as sweet as a dog could be. She also loves butt scratches and belly rubs.”
