For a dog named Chili, this is such a cool calm dog. Maybe Chili is short for “chilling”. Chili is a super mellow 5.5-year-old, Rottweiler/German Shepherd Dog. It’s sad to know that his previous owner mostly kept him confined him in the backyard, but in spite of that, he is very social and relaxed around strangers and new dogs. He practically is blind to cats. He is a big boy with a big appetite and during the food test he gobbled up the bowl very quickly. The officer could not tell if he ate any faster with the pretend hand in his bowl than with the hand not in his bowl, he was just focused on his meal and since there is an indication he values his food highly, that the adopter should take this into consideration.
Chili likes strangers, other dogs and cats. He is house-trained and not destructive, he knows some basic obedience commands and loves going on walks with his family. He was surrendered to the shelter because the people sold their house and had no place to keep him.
