Chica 2

Chica is a lovely, loving Shar-Pei/Chow/Labrador mix who urgently needs a foster home (and of course a forever home). This smart gal knows quite a few tricks, like sit, paw, go around, down, and shake (which she was taught to do after a bath). She’ll gladly display any of them for you for a dried liver snack or biscuit. Her favorite type of toy is one that is soft, furry and squeaks (she loves to disembowel them to find the squeaker; who doesn’t?). If you take her to a pet store she’ll pick the one she likes right off the shelf (Yes, she has done that before). Chica becomes so attached to her people that she has had separation anxiety in the past so the person that gets her MUST know not to allow her to exercise it with them. Chica likes to play one-on-one with other dogs; she prefers not to play in groups. She tends to ‘play rough’ so she seeks out other dogs who have similar play styles. Dogs have approached her to play with them but if they do not have that ‘certain something’ about them then she will ignore them. If the dog (usually puppies) persists then she will give them a warning bark and snap, which is her way of saying ‘leave me alone, I’m not interested’. Chica has an unusual hobby: chewing the caps offplastic bottles. But once she’s done getting the cap off she’s no longer interested in the bottle…unless you put the cap back on. Endless fun! Birds (especially pigeons), to her, are thing to chase. And don’t let her see a squirrel…. she loves to chase and bark at them. She’s learned to live with cats. Although she’s part Labrador she doesn’t like the water, but she will get in the tub to take a bath but reluctantly all the while looking at you like you are torturing her.
