this from the shelter that picked him up! We can’t wait to meet him!

Chester is an approximately 10-12 year old neutered male shepherd mix weighing 70 lbs. He was brought in to the shelter after being found at the Walmart parking lot in Woodland, likely dumped there.

This boy is awesome, although I didn’t realize it when I first met him. He looked depressed and timid when I went to meet him today, but he sat nicely for me while I leashed him. We headed outside and he walked nicely on-leash alongside me.

In our office, this boy quickly found the cushy bed and settled on to it. We petted him a bit and snapped a few pictures. Angela took out a squeaker to get his attention, and all of a sudden he went berserk! His ears came up, and he ran right up to Angela to try to get the squeaker. We brought out a stuffed squeaky toy, and just like that this boy with a graying muzzle and rheumy eyes was a puppy again. He chased down the squeaky toy joyfully, shook it, ran in a circle, and threw it at me, backing up up expectantly and barking: “Throw it! Throw it!” He even jumped up and caught the toy in mid-air! It was beautiful to see, and gave everyone in the office a nice afternoon pick-me-up.
