Charlie

Charlie

flat coated retriever mix
Male
Medium (20-50 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Charlie came from an abuse/neglect situation, his life was spared because no one had the heart to pull the plug on this great guy.
He is such a lover and is desperate to find a companion he can devote his life and give his love to! Charlie is housetrained, a couch potato, he thinks he is a lap dog! Charlie is about 8 years old, and weighs about 50 pounds, Because of his past,Charlie has some fear issues and needs a home that can help him gain some confidence. He would be best in a mellow home where he can get lavished with love. We promise he will return it! Charlie got adopted, we are so very happy for him and his new dad. A match made in heaven!
He deserves a great home to spend the rest of his life.Charlie does not get along with all dogs and would not be a dog to take to a dog park, but walks well on leash! We love Charlie, you will too.

Today Oct 26. 09 , we got an incredible update about our Charlie, he was our 13th rescue dog at Muttville

Over the past few months his personality has continued to emerge and his anxiety goes down a little everyday… all without any drugs! :-)

He spent a few weeks with my parents and grandma in Sacramento while I was traveling for work and my family just adores him. He naps with grandma during the day, goes for errands with my dad and my mom just enjoys him being around. My brother lives down the street and brings his dog Addy over as well. Yes, thats right, Charley actually LIKES another dog! Its super cute, I call Addy his girlfriend. She will walk right up to him lick his face… its always a good laugh! Charley has really become part of my family over the past 10 months and theres no turning back now! I would say Charley now spends half his time in my parents new house in Sacramento and half with me. He seems equally excited when I bring him up as he runs into my parents house, and just as excited to see me when I pick him up. I have never heard a dog quite a “vocal” as Charley… his yaps, wimpers, and groans just crack us all up.

Its been amazing to watch Charley develop over the past 10 months. He walks with head held high now, makes eye contact when I call him, and he continues to learn more and more commands using just hand signals! He is a very smart dog! I have even brought him to BBQ’s and parties and he is always the center of attention.

I wanted to share some pictures with you two. Enjoy!

I can’t be more thankful then to have Charley in my life! Thanks again!
