In Memoriam:

From Chacho’s hospice mom, Marie:

I know it seems like adopting hospice senior dogs is depressing, but here’s why it’s not…

Hospice dogs like Chachito are rescued by Muttville with terminal illnesses or health so poor that they look like they are at death’s door.

Then you take them home, love them up, and feed them home cooking loaded with your healing energy. You give them a family, friends, a home.

And then magic happens. Their shen (will to live) gets stronger. Weeks turn to months, maybe months turn to years.

Chachito was probably 20 years old when he started his “new beginning” at Muttville. He was a stray mutt, deaf and blind. He could hardly walk. He hardly would eat. He was fading away.

But then he met Ocean. And Gracie and Calvin. Lucky for us, he decided to stick around. Chachito lived with us for 2 years. ☺️

“The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.”

Chacho is a delicate and gentle sweetheart that deserves the very best from here on out. At his age, He can’t believe he still hasn’t found his forever home yet! All he wants is a warm place where he can spend his days sun bathing and getting loved. Chacho can’t see too well, so he’ll do best in a mellow home where he can take his time navigating around.

Because of his advanced age, vision impairments and neurologic condition we are looking for a loving fospice home for this special boy.

We think Chacho is 17 years young, weighing about 17 lbs.

Read a loving tribute to Chacho from his adopter.
