Bambam

Bambam

Toy Poodle
Male
Small (6-20 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Bambam is a 10 year old blind toy poodle who is no longer able to be cared for by his 93 year old mom. He is a smart, cheerful, curious, gentle soul who enjoys sitting on laps as well as exploring his environment. He has lung disease which causes him to cough periodically but will not shorten his life (according to the vets at UC Davis Veterinary School). He wants to be with you and needs to have someone who will be around the house most of the day.
Bambam is neutered, has all of his shots, and is housebroken. He is able to go in and out of a doggie door once he knows where it is. He gets along well with other dogs. (Other dogs have to be OK with being “walked into” frequently; cats are probably not a good idea since bumping them can result in him being clawed).
Bambam weighs 8 pounds, which is appropriate for his size, but he must not gain more weight or it severely impacts his lung disease. He is like a heat seeking missile as he smells for dog/cat/animal feces (including his own) to eat outdoors. Because he has hardly any teeth he has swallowed rocks (possibly because they had feces on top of them), so he needs to be closely monitored outside in the presence of feces. He also needs to be in a nonsmoking environment.
Bambam was obtained by his 93 year old owner from a rescue group about 5 years ago. When she got him he was shy and fearful and afraid of being hit and yelled at. He came out of his shell and has a delightfully upbeat personality. This wonderful little dog has a lot of love to give and deserves a forever home that can accommodate his special needs.
