Wonderful dog loving woman's life ends but not her legacy

Kathleen McKensie passed away last week. Her daughter Christie Keith knew of her mom’s love for dogs and she asked her mother’s friends to honor her life by donating to Muttville.

Christie went even further today in SF Gate by talking about how we can honor people’s lives by making educated donations to animal welfare organizations. It is an excellent article.

Dear Muttville,

I have been a volunteer for your organization for over a year. The donations did not mean anything to me until I fostered a dog that had mammary cancer. You felt it was your responsibility to fund the dog’s surgery so that she would be adoptable. It was not a question of whether or not you had the money to do it – it simply was a life-saving procedure that had to be done, and the bill would be paid, no matter what. That dog is alive and well, because you use every penny you get to do the work you’ve promised to do.

Thank you.
