Happy Valentine's Day
Wait… you mean I missed Valentine’s Day?
You’re right… I didn’t blog for you on Valentine’s Day. It was a crazy day for us! We were guests of honor at Amoeba Music – how cool is that! I had a brand new haircut and a slew of brand new dogs to match it. Check out these great pictures from the event – http://www.amoeba.com/live-shows/performances/san-francisco/2010-february-14/pet-adoption-day/photos.html
Today we had a little adoption event at Petco in Colma and a dog that was adopted as a result of the Amoeba event, Barney, came by to visit by accident. What a treat!
And so, I’m feeling nostalgic. All this love we’ve had and are having… you all are a great bunch to participate in this with me. An ongoing love affair with these animals that we know won’t last as long as us – we are giving a gift to the world.
Thank you to those who have adopted, are adopting, and will adopt.
Here is Bella, a Muttville rescue, on Valentine’s Day.
Please post a picture of the dog you have loved, are loving, will love.
Here’s my charming little Izzy (Isabella).
She just learned my hand signal “see you later.” I’ve taught all my dogs this so they would know I’d be back (at least I hope they get that part of it!). I just wave my hand back and forth in front of them (the old Queen Elizabeth-type wave) and leave (whether from home or leaving her at the vet’s for a while).
If at home, she now immediately turns around and goes right back to bed. She’s disappointed not to come with me, of course, but I like knowing that she understands at least that I’m going out.
That was me dropping by with Barney!
We were shopping for a doggie sweater to keep him warm during our walks around twin peaks. We didn’t find one but it was a lovely surprise to run into the muttville crowd there.
Barney has settled in to his new life being spoiled with constant attention and cuddles, and I’m completely smitten with the little bloke. Sure we had some problems with separation anxiety, but now I drop him at a friends house (to play with her little dogs) each day on the way to work, so it’s no longer a problem.
He is the most adorable little dog in the world! I’m so lucky to have him in my life.

Sweet Sweet Jolie is wondering where her soulmate is. As much as she loves her foster mom Kay she wants nothing more than to find her forever home with a warm lap and some soft fuzzy blankies (preferably pink) to nest in. Jolie just got back from a relaxing getaway to the Russian River where she played cards, watched the olympics, sampled the local food and beer and went for long strolls on the beach. Now she’s back and ready for love. Could you be the one?
