Generous & Much Needed Care For Our Seniors From Renowned Holistic Vet, Dr. David Fong
When Dr. David B. Y. Fong, DVM, offered to help Muttville and donate his time to provide acupuncture and herbal treatments to our ailing senior dogs, we could barely express how thankful we were! Sherri along with many of Muttville’s fosters and volunteers believe in the benefits of holistic care. Dr. Fong is certainly one of the best in the Bay Area, and we are so fortunate for his support.
Dr. David B. Y. Fong is a holistic veterinarian who has been involved with complementary and alternative medicine since 1993. He is a Colorado State University graduate, a certified veterinary acupuncturist and herbalist from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, and a California board-certified licensed acupuncturist for humans. He offers complementary modalities including acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine, chiropractic, nutrition and contact reflex analysis. He is dedicated to exploring new and different modalities that offer less invasive treatments than surgery, antibiotics or steroids. Dr. Fong’s goal is to discover a harmonious integration of techniques.

Gastrointestinal problems, such as vomiting, diarrhea and irritable bowel disorder
Allergies and asthma
Dermatologic conditions
Dr. Fong heads the CAM department at VCA SFVS. I forgot that you only rescue senior dogs and not cats.

This was so very nice of Dr. Fong. I actually live in the eastern part of the U.S. and my own dogs see a holistic vet. Thank you Dr.Fong for contributing yourself to a much needed charity.
I also just wanted to thank Muttville and all the volunteers there for caring about senior canines and felines. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of these very special animals.
I always adopt my dog’s from rescue groups or shelters. They are typically between four and ten years of age. My little “Lady” was ten when I adopted her. I had just lost my Doberman and wanted to rescue another dog since I still had my yellow lab at home. She was missing her friend. When I walked into the shelter, “Lady” was the first dog I saw and heard. She carried on so much as if to she was thinking “this is my chance”. I read her story and it indicated that she was 10 years old and her family no longer wanted her. Her teeth were in terrible condition.
My heart sank because I knew that if I took her, she wouldn’t be with us very long. Still, I bent down and looked at her and said “I don’t care if you’re 15, you’re coming home with me today”. We had her teeth worked on and she had regular groomings. Our sweet Lady had what we believe were the best 3-1/2 years of her life, we made sure of it.
Thanks for doing what you do.
Kind regards,
Janie Knetzer
