A fond farewell to Chula, she got a second chance at love....
Just got off the phone with Chula’s mom of 2 years, Judy, Chula was diagnosed with a late stage lung cancer, our sweet big girl had stopped eating or walking. So, it was time to say goodbye. Two years ago I saw a couple dropping Chula off at SFACC and was so taken with her happy smiling doggie face.
I just couldn’t imagine her getting euthanized and I knew the chance of that happening was high, due to her age and size, she was about 10 years old and weighed 90 pounds!
So I took her straight away and brought her to Muttville. While she was in the shelter she also caught the eyes of the front desk manager, who kept checking in with me about her. Well, she finally adopted Chula and Chula spent two years being spoiled rotten by Judy. Countless days romping at McLaren Park and sitting behind the desk at SFACC. Chula had a zest for life and being with all the people and dogs that she loved. She was a very lucky lady.
Chula went peacefully tonight over the bridge, I am sure she was welcomed by many playmates and green hills to run on….sweet dreams pretty angel
Condolences to Judy and all who loved her. How wonderful to be loved at the end…
How wonderful for Chula to be with Judy in her last years. Best wishes Judy – what a great life you gave Chula, a big E-hug for you!
Chula was THE BEST. Sweetest girl yet a stubborn old lady. My favorite times with her were when she would lounge in the grass and smell the sweet breezes while at McLaren park. She reminded me of Ferdinand the bull (remember that children’s story?) She always loved to meet new friends, people and pups alike.
You are greatly missed, old girl.
lots of love,
yer Aunt Anne
